At the November meeting, the North Central Electric Cooperative Board of Trustees appointed Jim Shade, Rex Grasz, Sherry Ward and Diane Stallings to the North Central Electric People Fund board.
Cooperative trustees Kevin Bishop selected Shade as the District 1 representative, which consists of Crawford and Richland counties.
Shade has been a lifelong resident of rural New Washington. He and his wife, Melissa, have two sons. Shade works at Shelby Printing and is also a farmer. He is a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sulpher Springs and serves on the church council. Shade enjoys attending Buckeye Central sporting events, watching Ohio State football and spending time with his family.
Shade was selected to replace Mary Wurm, who completed her second term on the board. The bylaws limit People Fund board members to two three-year terms.
Cooperative trustees Steve Seitz and Dennis Schindler selected Rex Grasz and Sherry Ward, respectively, as the District 2 representatives. District 2 consists of Wyandot County.
Grasz of Upper Sandusky and his wife, Kathy, have two children. He is a mortgage specialist with Union Home Mortgage Corp. based in Strongsville, and his wife if the executive director of the Upper Sandusky Area Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a degree in finance and he attended school for marina service and management at Universal Technical Institution in Houston, Texas. Grasz is a past president of the Upper Sandusky Rotary Club and is a member of the Elks and Knights of Columbus. Grasz said service has been an active part of his family and that he looks forward to serving on the People Fund board.
Grasz was appointed to fulfill the final year of Joe Shumaker's term on the board.
Ward has been a resident of Wyandot County for 16 years. She and her husband have been married 18 years and have two daughters. She was recently promoted to agency manager of Farmers Mutual Insurance Agency in Upper Sandusky and at the branch office in Kenton. Ward is an active member of the Mohawk Athletic Boosters. She enjoys gardening, camping and watching her daughters participate in sports. Ward said she is looking forward to being a part of an organization that gives back to the community in a time of need.
Cooperative trustee Nick Wagner selected Diane Stallings as the District 3 representative, which consists of Lyme, New Haven, Norwich, Richmond and Sherman townships in Huron County; York Township in Sandusky County; and Thompson, Reed and Venice townships in Seneca County.
Stallings has been a lifelong resident of Seneca County. She and her husband, David, have three children. Stallings recently retired from teaching elementary music at Old Fort Schools. She now works part time in social work, is the assistant musical director at Seneca East High School and plays the organ at Republic UCC. Her favorite hobby is raising her nubian goats.
Stallings has a long history with North Central Electric. Her father served on the cooperative's board of trustees in the 1970s, and her daughter Lindsay participated in the Youth Tour program.
