For the fifth straight year, the three races for the North Central Electric Board of Trustees will be uncontested.

Running unopposed are Kevin E. Bishop, District 1 (Crawford and Richland counties); Dennis W. Schindler, District 2 (Wyandot County); and Nick W. Wagner, District 3 (Reed, Thompson, and Venice townships in Seneca County, plus Lyme, New Haven, Norwich, Richmond, and Sherman townships in Huron County).

Letters announcing the trustee elections were sent to members in the three districts with their January and February bills. An e-newsletter was sent to district members who have email addresses on file with the cooperative. Articles were posted on the cooperative website and published twice in its monthly magazine, Ohio Cooperative Living.

Bishop of Chatfield Township is completing his fourth three year-term on the board. He became a Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) in 2008, and he earned his Board Leadership Certificate in 2012 and his Director Gold credentials in 2016. He is currently serving as secretary for the board.

Schindler of Crane Township is completing his 33rd year on the board. Schindler represents North Central on the Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives’ Board of Trustees and is currently its chairman. He earned his CCD from NRECA in 2005, his Board Leadership Certificate in 2009, and his Director Gold credentials in 2016.

Wagner of Venice Township is completing his first three year term on the board. He earned his CCD in 2016.
The current nomination and election process has been in place since 2013. Bishop, Schindler, and Wagner each submitted nominating petitions bearing at least 25 signatures of district members.

The cooperative has yet to conduct a mail/online election because none of the elections have been contested. A provision in the Code of Regulations states if none of the races are contested, the cooperative does not have to go to the expense of conducting an election. The candidates will be deemed elected at the June 13 annual meeting in accordance with the Code of Regulations.
