North Central Electric Cooperative is pleased to announce that Ron Frisch, the District 5 representative on the cooperative's board of directors, has met the requirements to earn his Director Gold certification through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA).

To earn Director Gold status, Frisch had to earn the Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) certificate, which consists of five courses that focus on basic governance knowledge and the essential skills required of cooperative directors.

Next, he had to earn the Board Leadership Certificate (BLC), which includes completing a series of courses focusing in greater depth on specific industry issues.

After completing the CCD and BLC, Frisch had to then earn three additional credits from the BLC series of courses to earn Director Gold status.

The Director Gold certificate was created to recognize cooperative directors who remain committed to continuing their education throughout their tenure on the board and acts as an addition to the CCD and BLC certificates.

NRECA is the national service organization representing the nation's more than 900 consumer-owned electric cooperatives, which provide service to more than 37 million people in 47 states.
